The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), describing the sector as the backbone of the state’s economy and a major driver of job creation, innovation and sustainable development.
In a message marking the 2026 World MSMEs Day, the Commissioner for Commerce, Mr. Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu, said the Soludo administration remains committed to creating an enabling environment for businesses through business-friendly reforms, capacity building, improved market access and strategic partnerships.
Speaking on the theme, “The Future Generation of MSMEs,” Ebonwu said the annual observance highlights the need to equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills and resources required to build resilient, innovative and globally competitive businesses.
He stressed that while access to finance is important for business expansion, long-term success also depends on sound corporate governance, continuous training and timely access to business information that enables entrepreneurs to seize emerging opportunities.
The commissioner encouraged entrepreneurs, business owners and aspiring investors across the state to take advantage of the various government programmes designed to support enterprise growth, create employment and contribute to Anambra’s economic transformation.
He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to implement policies that promote entrepreneurship, attract investment and further strengthen the MSME sector, expressing confidence that the state’s ongoing reforms will consolidate Anambra’s position as a leading destination for commerce, innovation and industrial development in Nigeria.
