Anambra Central senatorial aspirant, Venerable Sagacious Tochukwu Ikezue, has called on Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, and rival Labour Party leaders, Nenadi Usman and Julius Abure, to reconcile and restore unity ahead of upcoming elections.
Speaking in Awka, Ikezue warned that internal divisions could weaken the party against stronger rivals, particularly the ruling APC.
He explained that lasting peace must come through reconciliation, mutual respect, and cohesion, regardless of court outcomes on the party’s leadership dispute.
He described recent court rulings as a wake-up call for stakeholders to close ranks and reposition the party, emphasizing that unity remains LP’s greatest strength.
Ikezue also urged increased grassroots mobilization across Anambra’s 21 local government areas to boost the party’s competitiveness.
He downplayed recent defections to the APC, insisting LP remains a formidable opposition force.
Appealing for unity, especially among Christian members, he encouraged forgiveness and collective commitment, noting that teamwork is key to electoral success.
“Let us move forward together—forward ever, backward never,” he said.
