The Spiritual Head of Soul Revival Ministry, Nnewi, Anambra State, Prophet Ikechukwu Uzukwu, has called on Nigerians to take a firm stand against any form of electoral malpractice ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He stressed that the credibility of the elections would depend largely on the willingness of citizens to reject and resist vote rigging, regardless of who is involved.
According to him, those who attempt to manipulate the electoral process must be decisively confronted.
Prophet Uzukwu also advised former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to consider accepting a vice-presidential role alongside Atiku Abubakar in future political arrangements.
According to the cleric, achieving free and fair elections in Nigeria would require collective action by the masses.
He maintained that citizens must boldly say no to electoral fraud to safeguard the nation’s democracy.
The prophet revealed that he had previously advised Obi to establish and build a strong political platform rather than frequently changing parties.
He argued that a well-structured party would provide a more stable foundation for Obi’s political ambitions.
“Politics is driven by resources, and without adequate funding, it becomes difficult to succeed. You must give shishi. Obi should consider building his own party and funding it properly.
He could have strengthened APGA long ago into a formidable platform for his political journey,” Uzukwu said.
He further alleged that entrenched political interests have significant influence across major parties, making it difficult for opposition figures to thrive.
On the current administration, he expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the government led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that many Nigerians are disillusioned with the state of the economy and governance.
The cleric also called on religious leaders to play a more active role in promoting electoral integrity, urging them to support efforts aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability.
He appealed to the international community, including Donald Trump and the United Nations, to support Nigeria in achieving credible elections in 2027.
