A youth group under the Elite Cooperative Society Limited has secured a franchise agreement aimed at boosting fish production in Anambra State.

The youths were trained under the ECOWAS-sponsored TAENPROWIZ Youth Training 1.0 in Table Fish Production Business and will now transition into commercial fish production using a technology-driven framework.

The agreement was facilitated by the Fisheries and Aquaculture Business Development Agency (FABDA) in Awka between the cooperative and TeeMartins ICT Limited.

Coordinator of Taenprowiz Production Partnership Center, Emeka Iloghalu, described the deal as a major step toward increasing aquaculture production, creating jobs and strengthening food security in the state.

He disclosed that six fish production cooperatives emerged from the ECOWAS training programme, with Elite Cooperative becoming the first to sign the franchise contract.

According to him, Anambra targets increased fish production to achieve self-sufficiency, support industrial demand and position the state as a leading fish producer in the ECOWAS region.

President of Elite Cooperative Society, Chukwuma Onyekwe, expressed optimism that the TAENPROWIZ system would improve production and help members achieve their goals.

Managing Director of TeeMartins ICT Limited, Cosmas Ezenwanne, said the system would enhance efficiency and increase fish production output.
