The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared its ambition to win the presidency, National Assembly, governorships and State Houses of Assembly in the 2027 elections.
The Anambra State Chairman of the party, Hon. Ike Uzoezie, said this on Friday in Awka during a meeting with political support groups mobilising around the Peter Obi-Rabiu Kwankwaso presidential project.
Uzoezie noted that the growing support for the project had strengthened the party’s confidence ahead of the elections.
“Politics is all about winning, and by God’s grace, coupled with the massive support base we are receiving from groups like yours and ordinary Nigerians, 2027 is already assured for the NDC,” he said.
He added that the party’s ambition was to achieve victories “from top to bottom,” with its candidates contesting various elective positions across the country.
The chairman urged more Nigerians to join the party and called for stronger grassroots mobilisation as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
The meeting’s Coordinator, Chief Fidel Okafor, said the coalition was working to unite various support groups under a coordinated structure to avoid duplication and strengthen mobilisation at the grassroots.
Prof. Pat Obi, leader of the associates of Peter Obi and the Obidient Movement in Anambra, urged supporters to establish functional structures at ward and polling-unit levels.
He also challenged supporters to defend Peter Obi’s political influence in Anambra, while the state coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Comrade Charles Obiora Anueyiagu, appealed for unity among the various support groups.
The NDC’s ambitious projection now faces the challenge of converting the growing political enthusiasm around the Obi-Kwankwaso project into a strong nationwide electoral structure ahead of 2027.
