Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha and Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke, has been honoured with the prestigious Anambra Person of the Decade Award at a colourful ceremony held at the Stanel Dome, Awka.
The award, the first of its kind, recognises Archbishop Okeke’s remarkable contributions to evangelisation, education, healthcare, humanitarian service, youth empowerment, moral development and the socio-economic growth of Anambra State and beyond.
Speaking after receiving the honour, Archbishop Okeke expressed gratitude to the organisers, describing the award as an encouragement to remain committed to serving God and humanity.
He pledged to intensify his efforts in promoting peace, human development and community service.
Guests and admirers at the event praised the Archbishop’s visionary leadership and enduring legacy, describing him as a selfless servant whose positive impact has transformed countless lives and communities over the years.
