The Fisheries and Aquaculture Business Development Agency (FABDA) has facilitated a franchise agreement between Elite Cooperative Society Limited and TeeMartins ICT Limited to expand fish production in Anambra State and beyond.
The agreement, signed in Awka on Tuesday, will enable the youth cooperative trained under the ECOWAS-TAENPROWIZ Youth Training 1.0 programme to adopt the TAENPROWIZ Fish Production Business System and Technology for commercial table fish production.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Coordinator of the Taenprowiz Production Partnership Center, Mr. Emeka Iloghalu, described the deal as a major step toward boosting aquaculture production, youth employment and food security in the state.
He explained that six cooperatives emerged from the ECOWAS-backed training programme, with Elite Cooperative becoming the first to secure the franchise opportunity.
According to him, the initiative aligns with Anambra’s target of increasing annual fish production to achieve local sufficiency, industrial supply and export growth.
President of the cooperative, Mr. Chukwuma Onyekwe, expressed optimism that the technology-driven system would improve production efficiency and help members achieve their business goals.
Managing Director of TeeMartins ICT Limited, Mr. Cosmas Ezenwanne, said the partnership would enable precision fish production and improved output through the TAENPROWIZ system.
