The Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Jonas Benson Okoye, on Sunday paid a pastoral visit to Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Uruagu Nnewi, where he administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 245 candidates during a Pontifical Holy Mass.
The event attracted a large congregation of faithful and dignitaries, including former Nnewi North Council Chairmen, Chris Obiorah and Mbazulike Iloka, as well as APGA House of Assembly candidate, Paul Chukwuebuka Ileka.
In his homily, Bishop Okoye emphasized the significance of the Holy Trinity, describing God as one in three persons and urging Christians to love one another, trust in God, and avoid gossip.
He also commended the parish for its outstanding record-keeping and praised notable parishioners for their support toward the growth of the Church.
Parish Priest, Placid Udechukwu, thanked God for the successful visit and charged the newly confirmed faithful to remain steadfast in their faith.
Speaking at the event, Obiorah described the Bishop’s visit as a blessing to the parish and called for continued unity among parishioners, while Ileka urged members to remain guided by the Holy Spirit.
The celebration featured cultural displays, songs, dances and presentations, adding colour to the memorable occasion.
