Heads of industries and business organisations in Southeast Nigeria have reaffirmed their commitment to creating value locally and globally, stressing that structured leadership is essential to addressing economic downturn.
They made this known in Onitsha, Anambra State, during a one-day summit themed “Strong Africa BIZ CEOs Leadership and Stakeholders Summit: Creating Value Structured Leaders.”
Host and sponsor of the summit, Chioma Ifeanyichukwu, said Strong Africa is an NGO committed to value creation and leadership development. She noted that transformation begins with empowerment, adding that the goal is to raise individuals capable of making impact anywhere.
She also emphasized that leadership begins from small groups and reflects in larger responsibilities, urging participants to develop leadership capacity at all levels.
President General of ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna, said the summit broadened his understanding of leadership, describing a good leader as one with passion for others and willingness to serve. He also highlighted challenges around taxation compliance among traders.
Other speakers, including Evang. Dr. Stella Paul, described leadership as a lifestyle rather than a title, stressing sacrifice, patience, and emotional resilience as key traits of effective leaders.
The summit also featured business and development experts from various sectors.
