The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Idemili Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Barrister Kingsley Ezekwelu (PhD), has received a massive boost following a pledge by political stakeholders, youths and women in four communities of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State to deliver 100 per cent votes for him.
The communities—Nnobi, Akwu-Ukwu, Awka-Etiti and Nnokwa—made the commitment at the weekend when Ezekwelu visited them as part of his thank-you tour to APC members for their support during the party’s primary election, which produced him as its candidate.
Across the four communities, party faithful and grassroots mobilisers pledged to intensify voter mobilisation through their villages, churches, markets, social groups and other community networks to secure victory for the APC candidate in the January 2027 election.
Describing Ezekwelu as youthful, energetic, approachable and credible, the APC Chairman in Idemili South Local Government Area, Chief Sunday Obidigbo, urged party members, particularly women, to translate their promises into concrete action at the polls.
Obidigbo said the party expected nothing short of a landslide victory for its candidate, stressing the need for effective grassroots mobilisation ahead of the election.
The women, in particular, promised to take the campaign beyond political rallies by engaging fellow market women, church groups, social associations and residents of neighbouring communities.
They also pledged to educate voters and deploy their extensive grassroots networks to build a formidable support base for Ezekwelu.
At Awka-Etiti, Chief Oge Obi, Ichie Okaaka Ogbuagu, described Ezekwelu as the best among the candidates seeking to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives.
Addressing supporters at Akwu-Ukwu, Ezekwelu urged women and other eligible voters to harness their numerical strength through active participation in the electoral process.
“Women must not only attend rallies. They must participate in voters’ education. They must understand the electoral process and support a candidate with the fear of God,” he said.
At Ezeihulu Hall in Nnobi, the APC candidate further charged women to take the campaign message to their homes, neighbours, polling units and various social organisations.
He emphasised the urgency of grassroots mobilisation, urging supporters to begin engaging voters and building wider acceptance ahead of the election.
With the latest show of support from the four communities, Ezekwelu’s campaign is seeking to consolidate its grassroots base as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general election.
