The Anambra State ICT Agency and the Ministry of Information and Value Reformation have strengthened their collaboration to revolutionise information dissemination through digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI).
The partnership was reinforced on Thursday when the Managing Director of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA), hosted the Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr. Law Mefor, and his team to explore new ways of leveraging technology to improve public access to timely and accurate information.
A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation and handover of the upgraded SolutionLens platform to the Ministry, following a demonstration of its enhanced features by Agbata.
The upgraded platform incorporates artificial intelligence features designed to make information more accessible to residents while improving the efficiency of government communication.
Welcoming Mefor and his delegation, Agbata expressed confidence that the partnership would benefit Ndi Anambra by making reliable public information easier to access.
He said the ICT Agency had undertaken extensive upgrades to SolutionLens and was ready to provide the Ministry with the technical support and expertise required to strengthen information dissemination.
Agbata also revealed that the platform now incorporates Nora AI, the artificial intelligence system used by the ICT Agency to support its operations.
According to him, Nora has both public and private features, with the public-facing component made available to Ndi Anambra to enable them to find relevant government information more easily.
“What we have done is that we have taken Nora, which we use to run the Agency, and embedded it on the platform,” Agbata explained.
He noted that while the private version supports internal operations, the public version would help residents access publicly available information with greater ease.
The ICT Agency boss added that the integration of AI had enhanced the platform’s capabilities, making it easier for users to navigate information and improving the Agency’s operational efficiency.
In his response, Mefor described Agbata as a brother and friend, expressing optimism that the partnership would extend beyond SolutionLens to the broader deployment of artificial intelligence across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
According to the Commissioner, the Ministry would explore how it could benefit from Nora and other AI-powered solutions being deployed by the ICT Agency.
He expressed confidence that the collaboration would strengthen the Ministry’s capacity to fulfil its mandate and improve communication between the government and the people.
The partnership marks another step in Anambra State’s digital transformation drive, with both agencies seeking to harness technology to promote efficient governance, improve public access to information and strengthen government communication.
