Traders jubilate as Soludo harmonizes IGR

The President General of Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA), Humphrey Anuna, has commended Chukwuma Soludo for reducing and harmonising Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for traders across Anambra State.

Speaking after a meeting with market leaders in Onitsha, Anuna described the move as unprecedented, noting that the total annual levy has been cut from ₦39,000 to ₦35,000.

He said the reform eliminates disparities between public and private markets and ends multiple taxation by unifying state and local government levies into a single payment.

Anuna added that Anambra’s IGR remains among the lowest in the South-East, with neighbouring states charging higher rates. He assured that traders would support the government by complying with prompt payments.
