Prophet Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has called on the Anambra State Government to make Christian pilgrimage free to enable more believers to participate.
Odumeje, the General Overseer of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, made the appeal during a courtesy visit by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Pilgrim Affairs, Hon. Barr. Odira Ezeh.
The cleric urged Christians to strengthen their relationship with God and participate in the ongoing registration for the 2026 Christian pilgrimage programme.
He said removing financial barriers would enable more believers, especially those with limited resources, to benefit from the spiritual experience.
Earlier, Ezeh commended Odumeje for his contributions to the spiritual and moral development of Ndi Anambra, describing religious institutions as important partners in promoting responsible citizenship.
He said the state government, under Governor Chukwuma Soludo, was working to expand the benefits of Christian pilgrimage through initiatives aimed at promoting religious tourism, creating employment and boosting internally generated revenue.
Ezeh also announced preparations for the Anambra State Christian Pilgrims Summit, themed around the question, “Why Pilgrimage?”
He urged interested residents to visit the Anambra State Pilgrim Affairs Office for information and registration for the 2026 programme. He also appealed to church leaders to sensitise their congregations and encourage eligible members to participate.
