The Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Shedrack Azubuike, has urged Nigerians across the 774 local government areas to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.
Azubuike, who made the call on Wednesday, said the growing infrastructure footprint of the Federal Government in Anambra was evidence of the benefits of cooperation between the federal and state governments.
He attributed the development to the cordial relationship between President Tinubu and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, which he said had helped the state attract strategic federal projects and investments.
The council chairman listed the Second Niger Bridge, the ongoing 17-kilometre dualised access road, the approved dualisation of the 108-kilometre Otuocha-Anam-Abaji Road and the 150-kilometre Oba-Nnewi-Uga-Ihube/Okigwe Junction Road among the major projects.
He also mentioned the nine-kilometre extension of the Benin-Asaba Expressway to the Second Niger Bridge and the rehabilitation of the First Niger Bridge, including the replacement of vandalised components and installation of solar-powered streetlights and CCTV cameras.
Azubuike said the projects would improve connectivity, facilitate trade and boost economic activities in Anambra.
He urged residents to support Soludo’s development agenda and Tinubu’s re-election, stressing that continuity, cooperation and constructive engagement were essential for sustainable development.
“The future we desire requires partnership, not unnecessary confrontation. Progressive forces must continue to work together toward building a more connected and prosperous Nigeria,” he said.
