The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) has honoured former Federal Commissioner and senatorial candidate, Prince Samben Nwosu, with the prestigious award of Best Performing Business Development Service Provider (BDSP) in Nigeria.

Prince Nwosu who was former Federal Commissioner, National Complaints Commission and the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate in the August 16, 2025 Anambra South Senatorial district by-election received the award at the 2025 SMEDAN MSME Annual Conference, currently ongoing at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.
The conference, themed, “Building a Future of Innovation, Resilience, and Prosperity,” has attracted key industry stakeholders, including the Honourable Minister for Trade and Commerce, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; the Director General of SMEDAN, Charles Odi; Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani; top industry leaders; and MSME operators nationwide.
According to the Director General of SMEDAN, Charles Odi, the award recognizes Nwosu’s exceptional contributions to the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Nigeria.
“As a certified and highly respected BDSP, Nwosu has consistently demonstrated professional excellence in providing business advisory services, ranging from strategic guidance and enterprise performance improvement to enhancing competitiveness and access to finance.
“Remarkably, Prince Nwosu ranked first among more than 900 SMEDAN-licensed BDSPs nationwide, marking an outstanding landmark in his professional career.
“His recognition highlights the critical role of BDSPs in accelerating MSME growth, fostering innovation, and enabling job creation across the country. It also underscores the success of the SMEDAN National BDSPs Certification and Accreditation Framework in entrenching quality and professionalism in the sector, “he noted.
Reacting to the honour, Prince Nwosu expressed profound gratitude to God and to SMEDAN for finding him worthy of such a distinguished award.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing enterprise development and supporting the realization of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s MSME vision of “Think Big, Start Small through SMEDAN” across Nigeria.
