The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Sector Command, has urged motorists to exercise caution and strictly observe safety measures as rainfall intensifies across the country.

Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhanuo, in a statement issued through the Sector Public Education Officer, SRC Margaret Onabe, advised drivers to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy and their tyres have adequate tread depth for better grip on wet roads.

She warned that rainy weather reduces visibility and makes roads slippery, increasing the risk of crashes.

Asekhanuo also urged motorists to clean their windshields, ensure headlights, brake lights, turn signals and windscreen wipers are functioning properly, and switch on vehicle lights whenever it rains.

She further advised drivers to reduce speed, maintain safe distances from other vehicles and drive according to prevailing weather conditions.

The FRSC boss directed Unit Commanders across the state to intensify public enlightenment and traffic monitoring during the rainy season.
She reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to reducing road crashes and urged all road users to obey traffic regulations.
“Drive to Stay Alive,” she said.
