The Anambra State Director of the National Orientation Agency, Barr. Ifeoma Chijioke, has said staff promotion in the agency is no longer based on the Annual Performance Evaluation Report System (APERS) form, but on individual performance and productivity.

She disclosed this during a one-day in-house training for staff at the agency’s headquarters in Awka.

Chijioke urged workers to embrace discipline, dedication and teamwork, warning against absenteeism, truancy and misconduct capable of affecting their careers. She also directed local government staff to maintain movement registers for effective supervision.

The NOA boss further encouraged staff to intensify awareness campaigns on the federal government’s Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), lamenting low participation by students in the Southeast.
She also stressed the need for staff to uphold professionalism, patriotism and respect for civil service rules, while resource persons at the training delivered lectures on democracy, human rights, public service administration and financial accountability.
