A member of the House of Representatives, Uche Harris Annie Okonkwo, has sponsored 30 youths at the Faithspiration Initiative Youth Forum (Season 3) held in Onitsha.
The event, themed “Ablaze With the Fire of God,” took place at the Basilica Square of the Most Holy Trinity and attracted key stakeholders who contributed to the empowerment programme, with Okonkwo as the major sponsor. A total of ₦15 million was disbursed to beneficiaries.
Speaking at the forum, Okonkwo said he remains committed to youth empowerment, noting that supporting young people with ambition is central to his legislative priorities. He highlighted initiatives such as ICT centres in Ojoto and Awada, as well as regular health check-ups in his constituency.
The lawmaker also revealed he is pushing for policies that support youth development, including a proposed amendment to the Labour Act to ban street hawking by minors.
He urged beneficiaries to remain disciplined, uphold integrity, and live responsibly.
