Dr. Ferguson Chukwudozie Ezeokafor has emerged as the Deputy Rector (Administration) Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, following an election by the Academic Board of the institution.
The election was held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, during the Academic Board (AB) meeting presided over by the Rector, Dr.Chioma Irene Awuzie, who is also its chairman.
Before the election, the chairman nominated Dr. Ferguson Ezeokafor, who is currently the Director, Academic Planning; and Dr. Elias Okeke, who is the Head, Department of Chemistry, for the position in line with provisions of the Polytechnic Act. Dr. Ezeokafor polled the highest number of votes to emerge the winner.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Ezeokafor appreciated the Rector, Dr. Awuzie, and members of the AB for the trust reposed in him to serve as Deputy Rector.
He pledged to support and work closely with the Substantive Rector in order to reposition the institution as a citadel of excellence and pride.
Dr. Ezeokafor is a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Accountancy and a Fellow of Certified National Accountants.
He has held various positions in the polytechnic, including Chairman, Teaching Staff Appraisal Committee; Chairman, Committee on Harmonization of Teaching Courses; Member, Federal Polytechnic Oko Tenders Board Committee; Member, Council Committee on Academic Matters, Affiliation and Accreditation; Member, Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee.
Dr. Ezeokafor will take over from Dr. Kenneth Ezekwe, whose tenure is ending on 17th December, 2025.
