Governor Chukwuma Soludo has urged church leaders and the laity to show courage and uphold values that promote societal transformation.
Speaking during the All Knights Day celebration at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Soludo said governance and knighthood should focus on doing what is right rather than what is convenient.
The governor praised the Catholic Diocese of Awka for promoting the common good and standing against social vices.
He also defended his administration’s Burial Law, saying it has reduced excessive funeral spending and encouraged “befitting living and decent burial” in the state.
Soludo further disclosed that the government was cracking down on fake pastors allegedly exploiting vulnerable residents, insisting that the “New Anambra” must be free from deception and built on hard work and integrity.
He urged the Knights to remain exemplary by living according to godly principles and not merely by titles.
