The immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Awka Branch, Sir Gabriel Udoka Moneke, has been installed as the seventh Mayor of the Unique Fellows All Nations Club, Awka.

Moneke, who was elected alongside his executive members in February 2026 to pilot the affairs of the club for the next three years, was formally installed at a ceremony held at the ASUU Secretariat, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, on Saturday.

The event attracted business leaders, government representatives, club officials and other dignitaries, who reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to humanitarian service and community development.

Addressing the gathering, Moneke said his administration would leverage corporate partnerships and professional networks to promote sustainable community development.

He described leadership of the club as “a call to action” rather than a position of prestige, assuring members that the efforts and legacies of past Mayors would be sustained under his leadership.

He said, “My leadership will create a distinct space where the energy, talents and minds of the next generation could be seamlessly channelled into sustainable, life-changing service.”

Moneke also highlighted the club’s EcoHealth programmes, designed to integrate human health, environmental sustainability and community resilience.

He noted that empowering one person could positively affect an entire family and generations yet unborn, adding that funds were being mobilised for the execution of key humanitarian projects across Anambra State.

The new Mayor commended the Chairman of the Installation Committee, Kingsley Ezeibe, for his efforts in making the ceremony successful.

Earlier, Ezeibe said activities lined up for the installation included a health walk, tennis tournament and a charity visit to Shawn Christabel Orphanage Home, Awka.

According to him, the activities were designed to promote unity and sportsmanship among members while also sustaining the club’s tradition of putting smiles on the faces of children in need of love and support.

Ezeibe said the Unique Fellows All Nations Club, since its formal inauguration in 2003, had remained a platform for friendship, hope, charity and fellowship.

He described the installation as more than a ceremonial event, saying it was a reaffirmation of the club’s commitment to impacting lives and contributing to a better society.

In his farewell message, the immediate past Mayor of the club, Prof. Frank Enemuoh, urged members to give the new administration their full support to enable it take the club to greater heights.
