The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Anambra State Directorate, has urged Nigerian youths to shun cybercrime, drug abuse, gangsterism and other social vices capable of ruining their future.
State Director of the agency, Barr. Ifeoma Chijioke, made the call during a sensitization programme held at Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu, in Awka North Local Government Area.
She said the programme was aimed at promoting government policies, the National Values Charter and awareness of opportunities such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
According to Chijioke, many youths remain disconnected from government empowerment and education initiatives due to poor awareness and misinformation, making them vulnerable to crime and moral decadence.
She stressed the need for young Nigerians to embrace discipline, hard work and positive values for national development.
Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Njideka Chiekezie, described the programme as timely and impactful, pledging to incorporate similar sensitization sessions into the institution’s orientation programmes.
Some participants also called on the agency to expand the campaign to more schools, religious centres and communities across the state.
