Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has hailed Nigerian nurses for their compassion, dedication and resilience in transforming healthcare delivery.
In a message marking the 2026 International Nurses Day, themed “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” Mrs. Soludo described nurses as unsung heroes whose sacrifices continue to save lives and strengthen communities.
She noted that beyond medical duties, nurses provide hope, comfort and emotional support to patients and families.
The Founder of the Healthy Living Initiative urged nurses to sustain their commitment to quality healthcare delivery, while wishing them a happy International Nurses Day.
International Nurses Day is observed annually on May 12 in honour of Florence Nightingale, pioneer of modern nursing.
