The Mayor of Oyi Local Government Area, Emmanuel Ikechukwu Nweke, has called on women to play active roles in strengthening families, communities, and governance across Anambra State.

He made the call after his wife, Mrs. Obiamaka Nweke, was honored as “Nne Di Ora Nma” by the Awkuzu Progressive Union Women Wing.

Nweke emphasized that women are key to shaping values, promoting discipline, and sustaining peaceful societies. He urged them to support the developmental vision of Charles Chukwuma Soludo and the social initiatives led by his wife, Nonye Soludo.

According to him, achieving a smart and sustainable “mega homeland” requires strong family structures and active citizen participation, especially from women.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering women and strengthening grassroots development.
