…Says current lawmaker lacks capacity to secure re-election

Ambassador Lotanna Ikebunwa has declared his intention to represent Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, expressing confidence in securing both his party’s ticket and eventual victory at the polls.

Speaking during the inauguration of the “Good Governance Initiative” on April 11, Ikebunwa recounted his humble beginnings, describing how he once struggled with poverty before his life took a positive turn.
He credited his rise to mentorship and opportunities provided by late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who appointed him as a Special Assistant and supported his career growth.
Ikebunwa emphasized his grassroots connection, noting his past roles as Student Union President of Nnamdi Azikiwe University and former youth leader in Nnewi North.
According to him, these experiences have prepared him to effectively represent the people and deliver democratic dividends.
The aspirant pledged to focus on infrastructure development in education, agriculture, and healthcare, while also promoting economic opportunities within the constituency. He assured supporters, particularly a women’s group known as “Peaceful Ladies,” of inclusive governance and empowerment initiatives.
He also criticized the current lawmaker, alleging poor performance and lack of capacity to secure re-election, while urging his supporters to mobilize at the ward level ahead of the elections.
