The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Nsukka, Godfrey Igwebuike Onah, has blessed a bungalow built by Very Rev. Fr. Dr. George Adimike for an indigent woman, Mrs. Anthonia Ezugwu, in Diaba Village, Opi-Agu, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The event attracted a large crowd, including priests from Nsukka Diocese, members of the Faithspiration Initiative, and Catholic faithful from the Archdiocese of Onitsha.

Speaking during the ceremony, Bishop Onah praised Fr. Adimike for his continued acts of charity in Opi-Agu, noting that the priest had previously built another house for a widow in the community and also supported the completion of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Opi-Agu.

The bishop described the gesture as a true reflection of Christianity and urged youths to embrace faith and compassion rather than idol worship.

Fr. Adimike explained that he decided to build the house after discovering the poor condition of Anthonia Ezugwu’s former shelter during a visit following an Easter charity outreach.

According to him, the project became possible through donations from supporters after he shared the woman’s condition.

He thanked Bishop Onah for attending the event and assured Anthonia that she was no longer alone, warning those allegedly oppressing her to desist.

Anthonia Ezugwu expressed gratitude to Fr. Adimike, saying he rescued her during years of hardship and persecution.
The event also featured the distribution of N10,000 each to 50 beneficiaries, while community members presented gifts including yam, honey, plantain, fowls, and palm oil to Fr. Adimike.
