Dangote Refinery to expand production capacity from 650,000 to 1.4 million bpd

Dangote Refinery has revealed that it is expanding production from 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million barrels per day.

The increase, when effected, will make the refinery the world’s largest, overshadowing India’s Jamnagar Refinery.

Dangote Group President, Aliko Dangote, stated that the company’s decision reflects confidence in Nigeria’s future, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s vision of making the country a global supplier of refined petroleum products.

“We are more than doubling the barrels… to 1.4 million from 650,000.

“This will make it the largest refinery” in the world, surpassing India’s Jamnagar Refinery,” he said at a news conference in Lagos on Sunday.

“This expansion is about confidence in Nigeria, in Africa, and in our capacity to shape our own energy future,” he added.
