2027: Anti-North campaign against Peter Obi dead on arrival — Ex-PDP Spokesman

By Isaac Ojo

Former Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party in Anambra State, Mr Nnamdi Nwangwu, has dismissed alleged anti-North narratives against Peter Obi as falsehood and a failed campaign of calumny.

Speaking in Nnewi, Nwangwu, now a member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, said the allegations were being pushed by political opponents uncomfortable with Obi’s growing national acceptance ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

According to him, Obi maintained cordial relationships with Northern, Muslim and other non-indigene communities during his tenure as governor of Anambra State.

He noted that Obi regularly met with Hausa, Yoruba and other groups resident in the state and extended welfare support to vulnerable persons.

Nwangwu insisted that attempts to portray Obi as anti-North would not succeed, saying that the former governor’s record of inclusiveness and social support speaks for itself.
