Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, popularly known as Fr. Ebube Muonso, has marked his 15th Priestly Anniversary with a reflection on his journey of faith, service and humanitarian interventions, saying his legacy is still unfolding.
Speaking during the anniversary celebration at the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Fr. Ebube Muonso expressed profound gratitude to God for sustaining him through 15 years of priestly service despite the challenges he encountered along the way.
The cleric also paid glowing tribute to his Archbishop, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, Archbishop of Onitsha, whom he described as a father and shepherd who has consistently guided and corrected him whenever necessary.
He prayed God to continue to strengthen the Archbishop and grant him the wisdom and grace to lead the faithful.
‘I Have Thousands Under My Scholarship Scheme’
Reflecting on his humanitarian activities, Fr. Ebube Muonso said he remains committed to empowering people and transforming lives, attributing his interventions to the direction of the Holy Spirit.
He disclosed that thousands of beneficiaries are currently supported under his scholarship scheme, which he described as one of the largest in Anambra State.
According to him, education remains a powerful tool for changing lives and creating opportunities for people who might otherwise be unable to fulfil their aspirations.
He also disclosed that ₦100 million has been mapped out for medical outreach, reaffirming his determination to extend his ministry beyond the pulpit through practical assistance to people in need.
Sponsoring Patients Receiving Treatment in India
The priest further revealed that he is personally sponsoring two patients currently receiving medical treatment in India.
He said the intervention was part of his broader humanitarian efforts, which include supporting people facing serious medical challenges.
Beyond healthcare and education, Fr. Ebube Muonso disclosed that he provides monthly financial assistance to elderly people in Nkwelle Ezunaka.
The support, he explained, is intended to help the beneficiaries meet some of their basic needs and live with greater dignity.
‘I Didn’t Plan to Celebrate the Anniversary’
Fr. Ebube Muonso also revealed that he initially had no plans to celebrate his 15th Priestly Anniversary on a grand scale.
According to him, however, messages, surprises and gestures of goodwill from people continued to pour in, eventually making it difficult to ignore the significance of the milestone.
Among the touching gestures was that of a woman who prepared food for people as part of the celebration, an act which further reflected the affection and appreciation many have for the priest.
Fr. Jeremiah Ikezue Celebrates Mentor
Also speaking during the celebration, Rev. Fr. Jeremiah Ikezue expressed happiness over Fr. Ebube Muonso’s 15th anniversary, describing him as a mentor.
Fr. Jeremiah prayed for God’s continued strength, grace and protection upon the celebrant, while commending the impact of his priestly ministry.
A Legacy Still Unfolding
For Fr. Ebube Muonso, the 15th anniversary was more than a celebration of years spent in the priesthood. It was an opportunity to look back with gratitude, acknowledge those who have guided him and reaffirm his commitment to service.
From the altar to humanitarian interventions, from scholarships to medical assistance and support for the elderly, the anniversary offered a glimpse into a priestly journey centred on faith, sacrifice, service and compassion.
As he begins another chapter of his priesthood, Fr. Ebube Muonso said the mission of touching lives and giving back to society must continue, guided by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
