The presentation of the 2024 Governor of the Year award by The Sun Publishing Company Limited, publishers of The Sun Newspaper to the Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo is termed as a recognition of act of good governance.

The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ifeanyi Okomah in a congratulatory message disclosed that the “2024 Governor of the Year” by The Sun Newspaper is well-deserved based on the resounding accomplishments of the Governor.

Okomah observed that: “This prestigious award is a testament to Governor Soludo’s visionary leadership, dedication to good governance, and unwavering commitment to transforming Anambra State. His remarkable strides in infrastructural development, economic growth, and people-centered policies continue to set new standards of excellence.”
He termed the recognition as a well-earned honour and applauding Soludo for his tireless efforts in making Anambra a model state in Nigeria.

He noted that the honour which he described as prestigious award was given to a visionary and hardworking Governor.

Also, Soludo’s Press Secretary, Chris Aburime described his Principal’s award as “a well-earned laurel carved from his meritorious performance.

In a statement Aburime noted: “The SUN editors, sleuths with sharp eyes, scored Anambra and found undeniable evidence which includes over 420 km of roads paved, flyovers like the one in Ekwulobia hugging the sky, 68 km of federal highways dualised, all without a borrowed penny.

Others are the Government House, Awka a 34-year mirage, now becomes a reality; water gushes in Onitsha, Nnewi, and Awka, a lifeline reborn.

“The SUN’s hawk eyes caught more: Okpoko, once Nigeria’s grimmest slum, now dubbed “New Haven” with 15 km of roads, lights, a hospital, is a gem rising from decadence. Urban regeneration electrifies Onitsha and Awka, while fiscal discipline, Anambra’s top-five BudgIT ranking, pairs with ambition.”

“Within 152 awards trailing him, he is a comet of acclaim. Now, Anambra chants ‘ ‘The Solution is here’ and Saturday’s award ceremony proves it: a tribute to a leader who has made infrastructure a war cry.

“Nigeria will see what Anambra already knows: the Solution mantra is a master sculptor’s tool chiseling Anambra into a masterpiece. “The SUN garland is neither charity nor flattery; it is a merited recognition of good governance delivered excellently.”
