Residents of Anambra State are benefiting from free surgeries and medical treatment as the Friends of Governor Prof. Charles Soludo celebrate the birthdays of Governor Soludo and his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Nonye Soludo.
The medical outreach, taking place in selected hospitals across the state, includes free fibroid and ovarian cyst surgeries, cataract operations, glaucoma screening and treatment, as well as hernia surgeries.
At Enugu-Ukwu General Hospital, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Dozie Udeolisa, said the initiative is giving hope to women who could not previously afford fibroid surgery.
He explained that experienced medical teams have been deployed to ensure safe procedures and urged eligible residents to take advantage of the programme, assuring them that all surgeries are completely free.
The outreach also covers cataract and glaucoma care at the State Specialist Eye Centre, Nise, and free hernia surgeries at General Hospital, Umueri.
