The President General of Ebonyi Town Union Anambra State (EBTUA), Ambassador Moses Igwe has charged all the indigenes of Ebonyi state trading in Anambra State, particularly in Onitsha main market to shun any form of protest against the decision of Anambra state government on the closure of Onitsha main market for the traders refusal to comply with the directive of the state government to open business activities on Mondays.
The President General gave the directives while briefing newsmen in Onitsha. Citing that, the decision of the Governor is right and nobody should counter it, he noted that closing market every Mondays is even a detriment to the traders, saying sit-at-home can not release Namdi Kanu from prison.
The PG warned that Ebonyians are always a target mostly when it comes to any form of violence and said they should disassociate themselves from any form of protest.
He insisted that Ebonyians are the most peaceful and supportive non-indigenes to the administration of Prof Soludo.
Ambassador Igwe said Governor Soludo is a brother and friend of Ebonyians and they are happy with him, adding that no Ebonyi man or woman could go contrary to the decision or directives of his government.
His words: His Excellency Prof Charles Soludo the executive governor of Anambra state is our brother and friend. He loved us so much, he gave our brothers appointment in his administration, Ebonyi indigenes who are living in Okpoko are the major beneficiary of the general hospital he built in Okpoko. So no Ebonyi indigene should be part of any protest against the decision of the state government.
“After all no amount of sit-at- home orders could release Namdi Kanu from prison except when federal government wishes to do so, ” he maintained.
“If all the markets in the state resumes business activities on Mondays it’s going to be for our own good he concluded.”
