*Targets to take 10,000 children out of streets

In its own way of eradicating poverty through education, a philanthropist organisation, ‘De Imperial Philanthropic Family (DIPF) has budgeted N500 million as it expands its scope of scholarship scheme from 250 to 750 beneficiaries.
The measure was announced during the official launching of the third phase of its scholarship initiative for Junior Secondary 1 (JS1) students in both public and private schools across the five South East States.
National President of the organization, High Chief Dr. Sir Darlington Nwabunike
had earlier reaffirmed the organisation’s deep commitment during the 2025 DIPF extraordinary Annual General Meeting held in Okija, Anambra State on July 4, 2025.
He explained that the group’s plan is to take out ten thousand children out of the streets and take them back to school.
He disclosed that this year’s phase is an extension of the ₦500 million scholarship initiative first launched in 2023 and that an additional 250 students would be added to the existing list, bringing DIPF’s total reach to 750 scholarship beneficiaries across the South East region.
High Chief Nwabuike further said that with the launch of this third phase, DIPF reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to transforming young lives in South East Nigeria.
By combining financial support, transparent selection, and a clear poverty‑eradication mission, the family is steadfastly helping children stay in school, secured academically, and build a brighter future.
Chief Agbalanze Ifekudu, Vice‑Chairman of the DIPF education committee in his speech described education as the bedrock of every society.
“We are out to assist that child out there with quality education for a better future, “he added.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Best Brain Contest and official DIPF scholarship consultant, Dr Frank Igbojindu also assured stakeholders that the scholarship exercise as the previous ones conducted would be free, fair and just for all and sundry.
He also expressed deep gratitude to the sponsor’s faith in educating the youth .
He further noted that the 2025 DIPF scholarship is open for all primary six pupils that will be in JS1 by September 2025.
According to him, the application form is open for all for free.
“No application cost is attached. Notifications will be sent to all applicants for the dates and venues of the DIPF scholarship examination, ”Igbojindu concluded.
