Multiple award-winning Ebelechukwu International Group of Schools has inaugurated a new campus, known as the Jerusalem Campus, at Akuzor Village, Nkpor, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The new two-storey facility, which is the school’s fifth campus, is designed not only to provide a conducive environment for learning and cognitive development but also to serve as a centre for vocational education and practical skills acquisition.
Students from JSS 1 to JSS 3 will be exposed to skills including cloth-making, weaving, GSM repairs, coding, digital technology and other emerging areas to better prepare them for the economic challenges of the future.
The inauguration comes shortly after the school’s students distinguished themselves at a national competition in Lagos State, where the institution emerged as a major attraction.
Located in Akuzor Village, the country home of the school’s Proprietor and Director, Chief Timothy Ebelechukwu Chukwukelu, the Jerusalem Campus is also expected to expand access to quality education for children from poor and vulnerable families.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chukwukelu said the establishment of the new campus further demonstrated the school’s commitment to creating an environment where children could learn, grow, discover themselves and develop the confidence to pursue greatness.
He said the school believes every child possesses the potential to excel, stressing that its responsibility goes beyond classroom teaching to helping children discover who they are, what they can become and how they can make meaningful contributions to society.
According to him, the institution’s vision remains “To discover and develop the potentials in every child.”
He explained that the school’s motto, “Inspire to Aspire,” reflects its belief that education should inspire children to dream big, thrive, excel and aspire to greater heights.
Chukwukelu said the name Jerusalem was deliberately chosen for the new campus as a symbol of purpose, hope, peace and aspiration, adding that every meaningful journey begins with vision, faith and determination to positively influence generations.
He assured parents that the school would continue to uphold the standards that had brought it to prominence by investing in quality teaching, character formation, innovation, discipline, creativity, technology and the overall development of every child entrusted to the institution.
He added that the school’s objective was not merely to produce academically successful students but to raise responsible, confident, disciplined, compassionate and purpose-driven young people capable of becoming leaders and positive change-makers.
The Principal of the Jerusalem Campus, Mr. Victor Chiagozie Orajiaka, said the new campus would provide students with opportunities to acquire practical skills in clothing, information technology, weaving and other areas.
Orajiaka explained that the school would commence operations at the new campus with students from JSS 1 to JSS 3, noting that the decision was aimed at exposing learners to practical skills from the junior secondary level.
He said the school would continue to introduce new innovations so that by the time the students graduate from SS3, they would possess the skills and resilience needed to navigate challenges within and outside Nigeria.
A parent, Pastor Ernest Ekeigwe, described the school’s motto, “Inspire to Aspire,” as a principle being practically demonstrated in the institution.
Ekeigwe said his children had attended the school and some were already preparing to proceed to the university, expressing satisfaction with the quality of education and development provided by the institution.
