Former Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission, Obunike Callistus Ohaegbu, has declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency.

Speaking at his country home in Ebe, Ukpor, Ohaegbu, popularly known as “Nwa Miss,” said his decision followed wide consultations with family and political associates.

Running on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), he said his ambition goes beyond basic constituency projects, focusing instead on large-scale economic transformation of the South-East.

He highlighted key priorities including development of gas infrastructure, revitalisation of eastern ports, dredging of the River Niger and completion of the Port Harcourt–Aba–Enugu–Maiduguri rail line to boost trade and create jobs.

Ohaegbu also pledged to advocate policies that support local traders and address economic challenges facing businesses in the constituency.

He called for unity among stakeholders across the three local government areas and urged supporters to join the ADC ahead of the 2027 elections, as he officially launched his campaign tagged “Nwa Miss 2027.”
