Monarch charges new Awka advisers on peace, development

Traditional Ruler of Awka Kingdom, Obi (Dr.) Gibson Nwabueze Nwosu (Eze Uzu II), has urged newly installed members of the Cabinet Advisory Council to promote peace, unity and development in the kingdom.


The monarch gave the charge during the installation of nine new council members at his palace in Awka.


Speaking on his behalf, Palace Leader, Engr. Benjamin Okoye, said the advisers were selected based on their integrity, experience and service to society, urging them to provide sound counsel for the progress of the kingdom.


Responding, Chief Jonathan Nzekwe, on behalf of the new members, pledged loyalty to the throne and commitment to advancing peace, unity and development in Awka.


Palace Secretary, Chief Pius Okonkwo, said the appointments were made to fill existing vacancies in line with the Awka Traditional Rulers Constitution.


The ceremony was attended by cabinet chiefs, kingmakers, Ndị Ozo Awka members and other stakeholders.
