Intercessory Mercy of God Church International, Aguleri branch, Anambra State, held its 2025 Annual Thanksgiving Service on Thursday in a grand style.
Spiritual Superintendent of the Church, Major Prophet Augustine Onyekachi Obi, delivering message he titled: Trigger of Multiplications, charged the congregation to always show gratitude to God, the owner of life, who makes one rich without adding sorrow.
Referencing the Books of Palms 107:1 and 1Thes 5:18, the prophetic cleric, followers called Great Major, declared: “In every situation you find yourself, be thankful to God because, there’re others you’re better than.
“So, show gratitude and appreciate God with thanksgiving. It’s a command spelt out in 1Thes 5:18 —- ‘Be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus'”, he averred.
Speaking further, Prophet Obi enumerated what thanksgiving brings to include multiplication as exemplified by Jesus giving thanks over 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes.
Protection, according to the man of God known for the potency of his prophecies, is another virtue from thanksgiving even as he assured worshippers that none of them would be missing when they reconvene for 2026 Annual Thanksgiving Service.
Kick-starting the offering of the Thanksgiving Service with the Theme: “Harvest of Increase”, Pst Obi led by being the first to present bags of rice and tubers of yam offering to the altar, followed by Men and Women Wings, Awka Headquarters, Asaba Branch, families and individuals.
Before drawing curtains for the colourful event, some members were called out and appreciated with gifted bags of rice.
In a related development, Awka Hqrs of the Church, during the Sunday Service, witnessed child dedication and thanksgiving galore as its Pastor, Okechukwu Nnebe and wife dedicated Baby Ekpeleamaka to the altar of God. Testifying, Pst Okey said that they waited for 10 years before the arrival of Baby Ekpeleamaka.
He praised God that answers prayers of members and specially, thanked Prophet Obi for supportive mentorship, even as he enjoined members to learn to wait unto the LORD for His time is the best. Next to dedicate their twin babies: Chizaramekpere and Kamsiyochukwu, were Hon & Mrs Dominic Okagbue (Oyibo Aguleri).
Testifying, Hon Dom Okagbue, who’s the Chairman of Great Men Fellowship of the Church and who just recovered from a major operation, said he and wife waited many years before the twin bundles of joy arrived even as he thanked the “God of our Great Commission and Great Major that intercedes in our battle of life”, Oyibo Aguleri submitted.
