The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, has, at its 124th Plenary Session on Thursday, February 12, 2026, approved the appointment of Mr. Jasper Anunike Ugo Chukwuemeka as the substantive bursar of the polytechnic.
He succeed Mr. Sam Okonkwo, who held away on acting capacity before the selection of substantive bursar in the institution.
Our correspondent gathered that Mr. Jasper Anunike Ugochukwu’s appointment as substantive bursar followed a transparent, credible and merit-based interview process conducted by the selection board.
Polytechnic source revealed that out of 7 applicants, Mr. Jasper Anunike came top with 85.5%, ahead of Mr. Uzor Regius Chukwuemeka, who came 2nd with 56%.
The selection process, it was gathered, was monitored by the Federal Character Commission, which confirmed the it as free, fair, credible and compliant with statutory guidelines.
The polytechnic community appreciates Mr. Okonkwo’s dedicated service and commitment during the transition period, and wishes him continued success.
