Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo felicitates with the family of ex-Police Service Commission Chairman, Chief Simon Okeke over his grandson’s achievement who broke the Guineas World of Records (GWR) in Canvas Painting.

In his felicitation, the former President said the 15-year-old Master Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke had made his family proud for making it big as he became the best and greatest painter of canvas which enlisted him into the Guinness Book of World Record.

Chief Obasanjo said the lesson for all from the achievement is that no amount of disability of any child or anybody would be enough to discourage the person from laudable achievement.
“We must develop and identify the talent, the inate ability that God has given everyone. And this is what happened in the case of Kanye. At young age of 5 the talent was identified by the parents. He was given the encouragement. He was assisted both in Nigeria and Austria. And what we have seen today is a young man who has broken a World Record in painting inspite of his little disability.
“We must bear in mind that no disability will make any human being totally unusable. Disability in one area may be ability and counter ability in another area.
“And this is what has happened to my young son.
“I wish the family every commendation they require, and more grease to Kanye’s elbows and more laurels in future. Congratulations.
“We are all proud of this achievement which is a challenge to anybody who feels that he suffers any form of disability.
“For this, we must thank Okeke’s family for what they have done to make Kanye achieve what he has now achieved, “President Obasanjo concluded.
Tagbo-Okeke, a 15-year-old autistic Nigerian boy is now the official holder of the Guinness World Record for the largest painting on canvas by an individual.
The huge painting measuring 12,303.87 square meters to surpass the previous record of 9,632 square meters was shown to the public at Eagle Square, Abuja on April 2, 2025 which is the World Autism Awareness Day.
