COMMENTARY: Unseen Forces Against Peter Obi? Why Reflection May Matter More Than Resistance

By David Onwuchekwa

As political events continue to unfold, many supporters of Mr Peter Obi have become convinced that powerful unseen forces are determined to frustrate his political ambition.

Whether this perception is accurate or not, one truth remains: no obstacle is beyond God’s power to overcome. There is nothing God cannot do.

At moments like this, the response should not be limited to political calculations alone. There is also room for personal reflection and introspection.

Mr Obi may find it worthwhile to look back on his relationships and interactions over the years. Are there individuals whose sacrifices or contributions to his journey went unappreciated? Are there people he may have unintentionally offended, stepped on their toes, or overlooked when they genuinely sought his help?

Regardless of their social status, extending reconciliation, appreciation, or support where necessary could foster goodwill and heal old wounds.

His well-known philanthropic support for schools, healthcare, and charitable causes has earned widespread admiration. Yet, beyond public acts of generosity, there is value in strengthening personal relationships and acknowledging those who may have played quiet but meaningful roles in his life’s journey.

As a devout Christian, it may also be an appropriate time for deeper spiritual evaluation. Reflecting on one’s stewardship, commitment to God’s work, and personal giving, including tithes and contributions to the advancement of the gospel, is a deeply personal exercise that many believers embrace during challenging seasons.

Likewise, as a leader who projects national unity above ethnic or religious divisions, supporting humanitarian and developmental initiatives across different faith communities can further reinforce the message of inclusiveness that he has consistently preached.

History has repeatedly shown that politics is influenced not only by strategy, popularity, and resources, but also by character, relationships, goodwill, and, for people of faith, divine providence.

If there are unresolved issues, now may be the time to address them. If there are forgotten hands that once offered support, now may be the time to acknowledge them. And if there are spiritual lessons to embrace, now may be the time to do so.

After all, when God decides to intervene, circumstances can change in ways that human calculations cannot explain.

What appears impossible today can become tomorrow’s testimony.
