As part of the programme, over 50 beneficiaries received business grants of ₦100,000 each to support their entrepreneurial ventures.
The empowerment initiative was followed by a mentoring and training session held at the NUJ Secretariat in Asaba, where representatives of Finnish high-tech company FENNORICA Oy trained participants on how to improve their businesses through modern technology and innovation.
The event also celebrated African heritage through a colourful fashion parade showcasing culture, creativity and unity. Zimako emphasized that culture remains a powerful tool for promoting peace, preserving identity and strengthening communities across Africa.
She encouraged young Africans not to allow their backgrounds to limit their future ambitions, while reaffirming the foundation’s vision of empowering one million women and youths across the continent.
