No fewer than 250 primary school pupils in Anambra State on Tuesday participated in a quiz competition organised by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) as part of activities marking the 2026 Children’s Day celebration.
The pupils, drawn from public and private schools with road safety clubs, were tested on their knowledge of road safety rules and regulations.
Speaking at the event, FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno, said the programme was designed to equip children with road safety knowledge and prepare them as future responsible drivers and road safety ambassadors.
According to her, the pupils are members of FRSC road safety clubs where they are taught traffic rules, safety measures and the importance of attending certified driving schools in future.
She added that winners of the competition would receive prizes, while officers also joined in celebrating with the children.
The event also featured lectures on traffic signs, traffic lights and traffic regulations delivered by Officer Victor Ilozumba.
