*Commissioner Aghamba says voters rewarded Soludo’s performance, opposition boycott ‘comical’

The Anambra State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Chief Patrick Aghamba, has attributed the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)’s sweeping victory in all 21 local government areas of the state to citizens’ appreciation of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s development agenda.
Aghamba stated this while speaking with newsmen shortly after the declaration of Chief Chukwuemelie Ibekwe as the Mayor-elect, alongside other councillors for Onitsha North Local Government Area, by the Anambra State Electoral Commission (ANSEC) Returning Officer, Mr. Nnamdi Nweke, at the council secretariat.
The commissioner said he was not surprised by the outcome of the election, noting that the large turnout and enthusiasm displayed by voters reflected their satisfaction with the achievements of the Soludo administration.
He said, “Anambrarians trooped out to vote because they have seen the developments that are taking place in every corner of the state. They have seen that Governor Soludo is touching virtually every aspect of development.
“The people are happy, and that is why they came out in large numbers to express their support for the good things happening in the state.”
Reacting to the decision of opposition parties to boycott the election, Aghamba described it as “comical and laughable,” alleging that the opposition withdrew because it had nothing better to offer the electorate.
According to him, the opposition parties were overwhelmed by what he described as the “wonderful performances” of Governor Soludo and the APGA-led administration.
Meanwhile, speaking during the voting exercise at Ezechima Primary School, Inland Town, Onitsha, the Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Chief Edward Igbuzo; member representing Onitsha North I Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Mimi Azikiwe; and APGA Chairman, Onitsha North, Sir Okwy Maduekwe, commended the turnout of voters.
They maintained that the massive participation was significant, particularly as, according to them, voters were not induced with money or other material incentives.
The trio said the turnout demonstrated that residents were satisfied with APGA and the performance of Governor Soludo, whom they described as a “game changer” in infrastructure and development delivery across the state.
