*As Mayor Anaocha, others receive awards

It was a historic and colorful cultural festival at Anaocha Local Government Area, Anambra State when the community marked its Anafest 2025 tagged; ‘Culture Meets Innovation: Preserving Our Roots, Shaping Our Future’.
The event held at the council headquarters, Neni attracted Governor Charles Soludo, other politicians, traditional rulers and stakeholders community stakeholders in the community.
In his address, the Mayor of Anaocha Council Area, Hon. Rome Ibekwe said that the festival was a unifying factor that reflects the rich cultural heritage and progressive spirit of the people.
He commended Governor Soludo for his numerous achievements and visionary leadership in the state.
Hon. Ibekwe who was also conferred with a chieftaincy title of ‘Ezeugo Neni’ at the event dedicated the honour to the people of the Council, saying that they should count on him in terms of humility, integrity and commitment to community growth.
Also speaking, the Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Ifeatu Obi Okoye praised the Anaocha people for their steady supports to APGA party and continuous support to Gov. Soludo-led administration, urging them to remain steadfast.
In his remarks, Barr. Okwudili Oli commended the organisers led by Chief Patrick Egorom for successful blending of culture with innovations, noting that the theme aligns with the Governor’s vision of a liveable and prosperous Anambra, describing the N50 million donation as a clear demonstration of trust and confidence in the Governor’s leadership.
Speaking with The Nija Sun after his award, Chief Dr. Chinedu Benson Madubuko, represented by Engr. Ikechukwu Okafor, SA to Governor Soludo on Petroleum said that he had been to so many Anafest programmes, that the present one was very unique in the sense that it was combined with Governor’s endorsement.
Engr. Okafor, described his principal as a big philanthropist, disclosing that in 2021, Governor Soludo came to commission a 14. 7km road he built in Adazi-ani community.
He said that he was the Chairman of his foundation and for five years he has managed the foundation, giving financial aides to the less privileged, poor business people and his community. He added that he loves the poor and the community.
Also Chief Sunday Anoliefo, CEO Profit Holdings Limited said that he came to honour his PG (Obeledu) for the chieftaincy title bestowed on him. He also prayed for long life and prosperity upon him and the Anaocha Local Government as a whole.
Highpoints of the festival included yam competition, raffle draws, cultural dances, conferment of chieftaincy titles on deserving individuals who have contributed to the growth and unity of Anaocha.
