The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the Anambra State upcoming November 8 election, Chief John Chuma Nwosu, has outlined a robust and technology-driven security agenda as part of his seven-point development pillars codenamed SHEEEMS.
Chief Nwosu, an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) expert, who spoke to journalists on Sunday said his administration would prioritize the safety of lives and property through modern, technology-based security measures if elected Governor.
He assured that under his leadership, insecurity and criminal activities would be tackled decisively using innovation and intelligence rather than mere force.
According to him, Anambra State deserves a 21st-century security architecture that matches global best practices. He revealed plans to establish a fully equipped Command and Control Centre that would coordinate all security operations across the state in real time.
The proposed center, he said, would be powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and facial recognition technology to monitor public areas, track criminal movements, and respond swiftly to threats.
Chief Nwosu further disclosed that his administration would invest heavily in the procurement and deployment of modern security equipment, including smart surveillance cameras, drones, and digital communication systems.
He emphasized the need for continuous training and reorientation of security personnel to ensure professionalism, efficiency, and adherence to human rights principles.
He assured Ndi Anambra that with his background in ICT, his approach to governance, especially in the area of security, would be data-driven, proactive, and sustainable.
“We will bring technology to the center of our security strategy. Criminals must have no hiding place in our state,” he declared.
Chief Nwosu reiterated that his vision for a safer Anambra forms the foundation of his SHEEEMS agenda, which, according to him, is a comprehensive plan to reposition the state for peace, progress, and prosperity.
