As the November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State approaches, political discourse is intensifying, with candidates presenting their visions for the future. Among them, Chief Dr. George Moghalu, the Labour Party, LP, candidate, has emerged as a strong contender, advocating for a governance model rooted in purposeful leadership, transparency, and economic revitalization.

Moghalu’s political journey has been marked by resilience and strategic foresight. His tenure as the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, showcased his ability to implement reforms and drive infrastructural development. His leadership in NIWA was instrumental in promoting economic activities along Nigeria’s waterways, a vision he hopes to extend to Anambra, leveraging the state’s proximity to the River Niger for enhanced trade and connectivity.

The Labour Party has gained significant traction in recent years, fueled by a desire for credible leadership and a shift away from mainstream political parties. Moghalu’s emergence as the LP candidate has energized the party’s base, bridging the gap between seasoned politicians and the younger electorate seeking progressive governance.

Moghalu has pledged to usher in a new era of governance, emphasizing economic development, infrastructure expansion, and social inclusivity. His campaign has focused on creating an enabling environment for businesses, improving education and healthcare, and ensuring effective security measures to protect lives and property.

During his consultation tour, Moghalu highlighted the importance of unity and strategic planning in securing victory against the incumbent administration. He has assured voters that his administration will prioritize people-oriented policies, ensuring that every citizen has the opportunity to thrive.

As Anambra prepares for a pivotal election, Moghalu’s campaign underscores the need for superior ideas, ones that prioritize development, inclusivity, and effective governance. Whether his vision resonates with the electorate will be determined at the polls on November 8, 2025.
