Province of the Niger Political Committee (PNPC) has been inaugurated in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, a committee that generally came into existence in 2019.
During the inaugural meeting of the members on Sunday in Oraifite, the Chairman General of the Committee, Rt Hon Humphrey Nsofor explained that politicians were drawn from the twenty one local government areas of Anambra to form the committee with the backing of nine Bishops that make up the Niger province.
Rt Hon Nsofor who was the former Majority Leader of Anambra State House of Assembly when Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige was the State Governor and currently the Chairman, Ikukuoma Campaign Council, Ekwusigo local government area said the political instrument is a standing committee in the Anglican Communion, Province of the Niger.
“Our general mandate is to enlighten our people in politics, motivate them to have interest, participate in politics and be upto date in their civic responsibilities in society.
“As they show interest in politics that will help to enthrone the right leaders, “he added.
He said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Prince Ukachukwu has come to make a critical change in governance, to correct the anomalies in the system.
“The mantra, ‘Nkea Bu Nkeayi’ of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is now deceptive because the spirit of APGA has since left the party. What you see now is APGA carcass. They have failed Ndị Anambra. We know the Governor very well and who his master is. The Governor has derailed.
“APGA today is no more human-friendly. Look at the method they use in tax collection. You don’t have to force Anambra people to pay tax. They are willing to pay if you create an enabling environment for them to do so.
“We see hoodlums maiming and killing people in the name of tax collection.
“Security has equally failed in Anambra. When I was in government as a Majority Leader, there was adequate security in the State. We involved the traditional institutions. Presidents General of town unions were involved in vigilance groups assignments by providing information.
“We made use of the information in a secretive manner. We only revealed information to the police and that worked for us for the 3 three years we were in office. Criminals ran away from Anambra to other States. The know-it-all attitude of Prof Soludo has contributed to his failure.
“But the man we present to replace Soludo under the APC, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu is a man that fears God, a man of proven integrity; he is compassionate, a man who uses his resources to help the downtrodden.
“Prince Ukachukwu has made positive impacts in leadership, politics, business and other areas of life.
“He is well accepted across party and religious lines, “he concluded.
