Anambra LP begins congresses as senatorial aspirant praises Gov Otti

The Labour Party (LP) has commenced its nationwide congresses ahead of its National Convention, with activities starting at the ward level on Thursday, April 23, 2026.


According to a schedule submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), ward congresses are holding across the country, followed by local government congresses on April 24 and state congresses on April 25.

The process will culminate in a National Convention in Abuja where national officers will be elected.


An aspirant for the Anambra Central Senatorial District, Ven. Tochukwu Sagacious Ikezue, expressed optimism that the exercise would strengthen unity within the party.


Ikezue also commended Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, describing his leadership as transformative and inspiring. He highlighted achievements in infrastructure, fiscal discipline, healthcare, and education, noting that the administration has significantly reduced the state’s debt burden while improving service delivery.


He urged residents to sustain support for the government’s development agenda, adding that Otti’s approach reflects transparency, accountability, and commitment to good governance.
