A student of Grundtvig International Secondary School, Michael Offorkile, has emerged as one of Nigeria’s top performers in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scoring an exceptional 367 to rank as the fifth highest candidate nationwide, according to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
Offorkile, an NNPC/SNEPCo National Cradle-to-Career Scholarship scholar, spearheaded an outstanding performance by the school’s Class of 2026, further cementing Grundtvig’s reputation for academic excellence, discipline, and holistic education.
The school disclosed that nearly one-quarter of its SS3 students scored 300 and above in the 2026 UTME — a remarkable achievement widely regarded as a reflection of quality teaching, intensive preparation, and strong moral upbringing.
Management of the institution attributed the success to the resilience and hard work of the students, the commitment of teachers, and the unwavering support of parents and guardians.
In celebrating the milestone, the school congratulated Michael Offorkile, the graduating Class of 2026, members of staff, and parents for sustaining the culture of excellence for which the institution is known.
The management also expressed confidence that the students would continue to distinguish themselves in higher education and future professional careers.
