Remain resilient amid challenges, FirstPower boss tells staff

Managing Director/CEO of FirstPower Electricity Distribution Company Ltd., Engr. Okechukwu Okafor, has urged staff to stay resilient, committed, and innovative despite ongoing challenges in the power sector.


He gave the charge during a strategic visit to the Ekwulọbịa District in Aguata LGA, Anambra State, where he engaged workers on improving efficiency, ethics, and service delivery.


Speaking on “The Audacity of Hope,” Okafor emphasized discipline, teamwork, and forward-thinking as key to navigating industry difficulties. He encouraged staff to adopt a solution-driven mindset, drawing from his professional experiences to overcome obstacles.


The CEO highlighted sector challenges including energy losses, customer dissatisfaction, and infrastructure gaps, urging workers to take ownership of their duties, improve response time, and avoid practices that could damage the company’s reputation.


He reaffirmed management’s commitment to supporting staff with the tools and environment needed for optimal performance and growth.


In his remarks, District Business Manager, Everistus Obeta, appreciated the visit, describing it as morale-boosting and impactful, while pledging improved service delivery.
